Material Dialogues: where materials meet nature

Dialoghi Materici: dove le texture incontrano la natura

Every material carries a memory. A surface, a rhythm, a texture that shifts with time and light.

This project stems from observing the affinities between knitwear and the natural world. Not as a simple visual juxtaposition, but as a dialogue between surfaces that share the same language of texture, structure and subtle imperfections.

Cotton gains depth through constructions that enhance its relief and tactile character. Ribbed knits, sponge-like finishes, slub textures and three-dimensional stitches transform yarn into a surface to be observed before it is worn. Linen, with its natural lightness, introduces a different material expression, allowing light to move gently through its open structures.

Natural surfaces never become mere scenery. Instead, they interact with the fabric, enhancing its tactile qualities and revealing its innate character.

The photography slows the gaze. Volumes dissolve, giving way to details, fibres and delicate shadows that move across the material. Surfaces observe one another, responding in quiet harmony without one ever overpowering the other.

Rather than portraying nature, this project captures the moment when one material recognizes another.
